WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out an auto-album feature in Windows Beta. This feature is already available on WhatsApp Beta for Android and iOS, allowing users to categorize consecutive photos and videos sent through the chat window.
When a user sends and receives three or more photos or videos in a row, WhatsApp automatically groups them into albums to avoid wasting scrolling.
Users can see the entire collection by tapping the album. Meta-owned instant messaging apps are releasing features through the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) version.
WhatsApp Features Tracker WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is adding support for Windows Beta automatic albums. With this update, the media that are shared continuously in chat will be organized into one album.
According to the report, if a user receives three or more photos or videos in a row, they can tap the automatic album to view the entire collection while using the UWP version of the app. The report contains screenshots showing the automatic album feature.
This feature is available to users who have installed the latest version of the Windows Beta app from the Microsoft Store. However, this feature already exists in WhatsApp Beta for Android and iOS.
WhatsApp is reported to have added the ability to view photos once and record voice memos on WhatsApp Beta for Windows. WhatsApp is also reported to have launched a new feature that allows users to add up to 512 members to group chats. It also tests the new undo option for deleted messages. This will bring up a new pop-up bar at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds after the user deletes the message using the Delete for me option.
