There are many ways to leave a messenger group chat, but this time we will guide you on the quickest and easiest way. To exit a messenger group chat is quite easy, follow the steps below.

Leave Messenger Group Chats on PC/Browser

To exit the messenger group from your PC / laptop or Mac, all you need is a web browser or directly from the Desktop Messenger application. For this guide, I'm using a browser, but the steps are the same as using Facebook Desktop Messenger.

  1. On your browser go to the Facebook website: www.facebook.com and log in to your account.
  2. On the home page, click the Messenger icon at the upper right corner, and then search for the group chat, then click the chat.

  3. The group chat tab will appear at the bottom of the screen. Click on the down arrow icon, and the chat settings screen will appear. Click Leave Group on the bottom.

  4. On the confirmation screen, click Leave Group.

Leave a Messenger Group on Android or iOS

  1. Open the Facebook Messenger app on your phone. Log in to your account first.
  2. Then find and open the group chat.
  3. When you are on the group chat screen, tap on the (i) icon in the upper right corner of the screen, and the chat settings will appear.

  4. On the settings screen, swipe to the very bottom, and tap on the Leave Group menu.
  5. A confirmation screen will appear, and select Leave Group.
  6. When you exit a group chat, it will no longer be visible in your chat list.
